How do I apply?

  • Whakapapa Māori.

  • Be enrolled in a PhD or Masters level programme at a New Zealand university.

  • We encourage participants from a range of disciplinary backgrounds.

  • Must be able to commit for the entire Piki Ake programme.

  • Have an interest in pursuing an academic career.

What's the difference between Piki Ake and Te Kei?

Piki Ake is aimed at Māori PhD or Masters level programme ākonga, while Te Kei is for early career Māori academics already employed by one of the eight New Zealand universities. 

How will I learn?

You will learn through six online self-directed modules and two online blended wānanga components.
